In these terms, Affordable Skip Hire shall mean Affordable Skip Hire Skips Ltd.

Affordable Skip Hire lets, and the hirer takes, the goods on hire for the period agreed.

Affordable Skip Hire shall deliver the goods to the hirer’s premises and install them in the position selected by the hirer.

• 3.1 Where a skip is sited on a public highway, it should have lights attached so that it is visible at night. These are the hirer’s responsibility, but are available on request for a small hire charge. The hirer is responsible for ensuring hired lights are not damaged or stolen.
• 3.2 Where a skip is sited on a public highway, traffic cones should be placed around it. These are the hirer’s responsibility, but are available on request for a small hire charge. The hirer is responsible for ensuring hired cones are not damaged or stolen.
• 3.3 Where a skip is sited on a public highway, a permit from the local council is required. Affordable Skip Hire will apply for this on request, with the permit cost payable by the hirer.

The hirer is advised before delivery to protect paving slabs, manhole covers and any other items that may be damaged by the delivery or collection vehicle, and to ensure all access ways are suitable and safe.

In the event of damage to the hirer’s premises, Affordable Skip Hire shall not be responsible. In the event of damage to the Affordable Skip Hire delivery or collection vehicle, the hirer shall be responsible.

The driver shall deposit the skip in accordance with the hirer’s instructions and, for this purpose, the driver shall be deemed to be acting as the hirer’s agent.

• 4.1 The hirer shall not light fires in the skip or place wet cement in it.
• 4.2 The hirer shall reimburse Affordable Skip Hire for any costs arising from theft or damage caused to the skip by fire, accident, mechanical excavators or other vehicles while on hire. All skips must be level loads only and must not be loaded above the sides of the skip at any time.

The hirer shall not re-site the skip after delivery, or set out or interfere with hired lights. If any fault occurs with the skip lights or traffic cones, or in the event of loss or damage, the hirer must immediately replace the batteries where necessary and/or replace or renew the lights as required, and notify Affordable Skip Hire without delay.

The hirer shall compensate Affordable Skip Hire in full, on demand, for all loss and damage to the goods caused by misuse or negligence.

During the hire period, the hirer shall not sell, offer for sale, lend, part with possession of, or otherwise deal with the skip, lights or cones without the previous written consent of Affordable Skip Hire.

The hirer shall duly and punctually pay all rent, taxes and outgoings payable in respect of the premises where the goods are installed, protect Affordable Skip Hire against any distress, execution or seizure of the goods, and compensate Affordable Skip Hire in full for all losses and expenses incurred in respect of them.

The hirer shall compensate Affordable Skip Hire in full, on demand, for any loss suffered as a result of damage, fire or theft to, or of, the goods, and for any claims made by any person in respect of the goods while they are in the hirer’s custody.

The hirer shall permit Affordable Skip Hire, at all reasonable times and on reasonable notice, access to the goods and to any property where they are situated for the purposes of inspection, repair or repossession.

Affordable Skip Hire may affix plates or marks to the skips indicating ownership, and the hirer shall not remove, deface, cover or interfere with them.

Affordable Skip Hire may terminate the hire by written notice and retake possession of the skip if the hirer breaches any term, is adjudged bankrupt, enters into a voluntary arrangement, is wound up, or is placed into receivership.

The hirer is responsible for providing an accurate description of the waste.

• 12.1 The hirer is responsible for controlling all waste placed into the skip.
• 12.2 No asbestos or other hazardous/special waste may be placed in the skip unless previously agreed in writing by Affordable Skip Hire. This includes, without limitation: oils, flammable materials, computers, corrosive or infectious waste, refrigerators, freezers, gas bottles, tyres and chemical waste.
• 12.3 If unauthorised materials are found when the skip is emptied, they may be removed and returned to the site address, and the hirer will be liable for any additional costs.
• 12.4 If such items cannot be returned, the hirer will be responsible for the full cost of handling, treatment and transportation required for lawful disposal in accordance with current legislation.

For the purpose of retaking possession of the goods, Affordable Skip Hire may enter the premises where they are situated. Retaking possession shall not affect the right to recover any sums due at the time of termination, or damages for any breach of this agreement occurring before termination.

The hirer confirms that the skip has been selected without reliance on any condition, representation or warranty by Affordable Skip Hire, unless expressly incorporated in writing and signed by both parties.

All non-account customers must provide card details when ordering, or pay cash on delivery of the goods.

All account customers trade on 30 days net terms unless otherwise agreed in writing before trading commences. Waste Management Licence and Waste Carrier’s Licence details are available on request.
